Hon. John L. Collins

John L. Collins is a seasoned Oregon jurist who has served as the presiding judge of the Yamhill County Circuit Court since 1992. A graduate of Oregon State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (1969), he earned his J.D. from Willamette University School of Law in 1972 and completed an LL.M. in Criminal Justice at New York University School of Law in 1974. Prior to his judicial appointment, Collins was the District Attorney for Yamhill County from 1976 to 1992. He has been re-elected unopposed in both the 2010 and 2016 elections, reflecting strong community confidence in his stewardship of the court. His legal expertise centers on criminal law and justice administration, and he continues to serve the 25th Judicial District with dedication and integrity.
