Hon. Michael Carrozzo

Michael Carrozzo is a judge serving on the Superior Court of Santa Barbara County, California. Appointed by Democratic Governor Jerry Brown on June 18, 2014, he filled the vacancy left by Judge George C. Eskin and was subsequently elected unopposed to a full term in 2016. Mr. Carrozzo earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, and his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School. His legal career spans roles as Deputy District Attorney for Santa Barbara County, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, and U.S. Army Captain Judge Advocate at Fort Irwin. Prior to his judicial appointment, he worked as a senior attorney at the Law Offices of Michael Gurfinkel and as an attorney in private practice. His experience reflects a broad engagement with criminal, federal, and military law, and he has been recognized for his service through appointment to the bench and election to a full term.
