Hon. Megan Shanahan

Megan E. Shanahan is a judge of the Hamilton County Court of Common Pleas General Division in Ohio. She was appointed to the bench by Governor John Kasich on March 6, 2015, and has served continuously since assuming office on April 13, 2015. Shanahan was re-elected in the 2022 general election, defeating R. Bernard Mundy with 54.7% of the vote. Prior to her judgeship, she served as a municipal court judge for the Hamilton County Municipal Court, as an assistant prosecutor for both the Butler County and Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Offices, and as a prosecutor for the Mt. Healthy Mayor’s Court. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kent State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
