John P. Zakowski is a circuit court judge for the Brown County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was appointed to the position on December 21, 2011 by Gov. Scott Walker and was elected in 2012 for a term that will expire in 2018. Zakowski earned his Bachelor of Science in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison Law School. He served as District Attorney for Brown County from 1986 to 2011 and previously worked as an associate at the Green Bay law firm Nelson & Schmelling. In 2002 he received the E. Michael McCann Prosecutor of the Year Award.
