Hon. Victoria S. Kolakowski

Victoria Kolakowski is a Superior Court Judge in Alameda County, California, serving since 2011. She earned her J.D. from Louisiana State University and has over two decades of legal experience, including 21 years as an attorney in Louisiana and four years as an administrative law judge with the California Public Utilities Commission. Kolakowski is the first openly transgender trial judge in the United States and has received several awards, such as the Equality and Justice Award from Equality California, the Outstanding Woman of Berkeley award, and the Woman of the Year award from the East Bay Lesbian/Gay Democratic Club.
