Hon. Michael R. Deems

Michael R. Deems is a seasoned legal professional who has served as a judge on the Superior Court of Butte County, California, since his appointment by Governor Jerry Brown on December 27, 2012. He was re-elected in 2014 without opposition, securing a term that extended through 2021. Prior to his judicial tenure, Deems built a robust legal career, including a decade as managing partner of the Law Offices of Deems and Keller LLP and various associate positions at prominent law firms such as Stewart Humpherys Burchett and Molin LLP, Sinclair and Hill, Moss and Enochian, and Nagle Krug and Winters. He earned his undergraduate degree from California Lutheran College and his Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law.
