Hon. Steven Cahill

Steven J. Cahill is a seasoned legal professional who has served as a Judge of the Seventh Judicial District in Clay County, Minnesota, from 2006 until 2020. He was appointed to the bench in 2006 and subsequently elected to a full term in 2008, with a re-election victory in 2014 that secured a term expiring in 2020. Prior to his judicial tenure, Cahill practiced law for nearly three decades, first as an attorney with the firm Cahill, Gunhus, Streed, Grinnell, Jeffries and Klinger from 1976 to 1981, and then as a partner in his own practice, Cahill Law Office, PA, from 1981 to 2006. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Winona State College in 1972 and his Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in 1976.
