Hon. Christopher R. Brauer

Christopher R. Brauer is a judge serving the Oregon 6th Judicial District, presiding from Courtroom 1 in Pendleton, Oregon. He has been in this role since 2007 and previously served as the District Attorney for Umatilla County from 1995 to 2007, where he also held leadership positions such as President of the Oregon District Attorneys' Association in 2002. Brauer’s legal career began as a public defender for Umatilla and Morrow Counties from 1985 to 1995. He earned a B.A. in English Literature from Willamette University and a J.D. from Gonzaga University School of Law, and has continued his studies at Portland State University. In addition to his judicial duties, Brauer has contributed to public safety and criminal justice initiatives, including the Oregon Judicial Department Criminal Caseflow Management Pilot Project, the State Prison Advisory Committee at EOCI, and the Oregon State Board on Public Safety Standards and Training. His professional service extends to the Local Public Safety Coordinating Council and the Umatilla Senior Management Team. Brauer was elected unopposed in the 2012 election and continues to serve the community with a commitment to justice and public safety.
