Erik Askegaard is a Ninth Judicial District judge for Crow Wing County, Minnesota. He was appointed to this position on October 19, 2009 and elected to a full term in 2012. His new term ends in January of 2019. He earned a B.S.B.A. from the University of North Dakota in 1982 and a J.D. from the University of North Dakota School of Law in 1986. He began his legal career as a law clerk to Justice Meschke on the North Dakota Supreme Court in 1986, then joined the law firm of Jeffries, Olson & Flom, P.A. in 1987, where he worked until 1991. In 1991 he co-founded Askegaard & Robinson, P.A., practicing there until his judicial appointment in 2009. He ran unopposed in the 2012 general election, receiving 99.42 percent of the vote.
