<b>James Morrison</b> is a judge for Branch 2 of the <a href="/Marinette_County_Circuit_Court,_Wisconsin" title="Marinette County Circuit Court, Wisconsin">Marinette County Circuit Court</a> in <a href="/Wisconsin" title="Wisconsin">Wisconsin</a>. He was appointed by Governor <a href="/Scott_Walker" title="Scott Walker">Scott Walker</a> in March 2012 to succeed <a href="/Tim_Duket" title="Tim Duket">Tim Duket</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-pr_1-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-pr-1">[1]</a></sup>
</p><p>In June 2016, Morrison was named one of five finalists for a seat on the <a href="/Wisconsin_Supreme_Court" title="Wisconsin Supreme Court">Wisconsin Supreme Court</a> to fill the projected vacancy created by the retirement of Justice <a href="/David_Prosser" class="mw-redirect" title="David Prosser">David Prosser</a> in July 2016.<sup id="cite_ref-Finalist_2-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-Finalist-2">[2]</a></sup> He was not selected to continue in the appointment process.
