Hon. Pamela Scott Washington

Pamela Scott Washington has served as a judge of the Alaska Third District District Court since her appointment by Governor Sean Parnell on August 9, 2010. She has presided over a broad range of cases, including criminal prosecutions, state and private adoptions, and general civil matters. Prior to her judicial tenure, Washington built a diverse legal career that spanned private and public criminal defense, general practice, and municipal legal work in Anchorage. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in telecommunications from Northern Arizona University and a Juris Doctor from Arizona State University. Washington is a member of several bar associations, including the Alaska Bar Association, Anchorage Bar Association, Oklahoma Bar Association, National Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. Her judicial service has been affirmed by multiple retention elections, most recently in 2020 and 2024, reflecting the confidence of the electorate in her stewardship of the court.
