Schluchter</b> is a <a href="/Minnesota_Ninth_Judicial_District" title="Minnesota Ninth Judicial District">Ninth Judicial District</a> judge for <a href="/Beltrami_County,_Minnesota_(Judicial)" title="Beltrami County, Minnesota (Judicial)"> Beltrami County</a>, <a href="/Minnesota" title="Minnesota">Minnesota</a>. She was appointed to this position in <a href="/C2005" class="mw-redirect" title="C2005">2005</a> and was elected to a full term in 2006 and again in 2012. Her current term expires in <a href="/C2019#January" class="mw-redirect" title="C2019">January of 2019</a>.<sup id="cite_ref-bio_1-0" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-bio-1">[1]</a></sup>

<p>Schluchter received her B.S. and J.D. degrees from the University of North Dakota in 1982 and 1985, respectively.<sup id="cite_ref-bio_1-1" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-bio-1">[1]</a></sup>
</p>
<h2><span class="mw-headline" id="Career">Career</span></h2>
<p>Schluchter began her legal career in 1985 as a private practice lawyer. She worked in this capacity until 1992. She also worked for the Beltrami County Attorney's Office as an Assistant (1985-90) and Chief Assistant (1990-2005) until her judicial appointment. In 1992, and from 1996 to 2005, she taught as an adjunct professor at Bemidji State University.<sup id="cite_ref-bio_1-2" class="reference"><a href="#cite_note-bio-1">[1]</a></sup>
