About
Dale O. Harris is a Sixth Judicial District judge for St. Louis County, Minnesota. He was appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty in 2010 and sworn in on March 8, 2010. Harris earned a B.M.E. from the University of Minnesota in 1990 and a J.D. from Hamline University School of Law in 1993. He began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1993 to 2000, and continues to serve in the U.S. Navy Reserve. During his military service he worked as a trial attorney, appellate attorney, court commissioner, executive office, and judge of the Navy-Marine Corps Court of Criminal Appeals. After leaving the Navy, he practiced with the law firm Hanft, Fride, P.A., then served as Chief Deputy Court Administrator for St. Louis County, and later as Assistant County Attorney in the Civil Division. He was elected unopposed in 2012 to retain his seat, with his term expiring in January 2019.
