Hon. Elizabeth Asbury

Elizabeth C. Asbury is a judge of the Eighth District Chancery Court in Tennessee, serving since her election in 2014. She began her judicial career on September 1, 2014, and her current term expires in 2022. Prior to her appointment to the chancery court, Asbury served as a judge on the Caryville Municipal Court from 2006 to 2014. She has extensive experience as an attorney, having worked in private practice from 1985 to 1993 and again from 1998 to 2014, and as an assistant district attorney from 1993 to 1998. Asbury earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Tennessee in 1982 and her Juris Doctor from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1985. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Campbell Bar Association. She was elected to the Eighth District Chancery Court in 2014, defeating incumbent Judge Andrew Tillman with 56.8 percent of the vote.
