Michael G. Takac is a Lake County judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court in Florida. Born in Teaneck, New Jersey, he moved to Marion County, Florida in 1974. He earned a bachelor's degree from Wake Forest University and a law degree from Campbell School of Law. Takac began his legal career as Assistant General Counsel for Governor Lawton Chiles from 1997 to 1999. After spending six years in private practice, he joined the Florida Attorney General's Office, rising to Senior Assistant Attorney General. In 2006, he was elected to the Fifth Judicial Circuit Court, where he served as a judge until his term expired in January 2019. He was re-elected unopposed in 2012. Throughout his career, Takac has demonstrated a commitment to public service and the Florida legal system.
