Hon. John Herbert Cranford

Herb Cranford is a third-generation prosecutor from Newnan, Georgia. He graduated from the University of Georgia and received his law degree from Mercer University. He was sworn in as District Attorney by Gov. Nathan Deal. His focus includes vigorous prosecution of violent crimes and support for accountability courts.<br/><br/>John Herbert Cranford Jr., the current District Attorney for the Coweta Judicial Circuit, has been appointed by Governor Nathan Deal since 2018. He has successfully prosecuted various crimes, including rape, child molestation, and murder, with a notable focus on criminal street gangs. He serves on the State Bar’s Disciplinary Board and is the Treasurer for the District Attorneys’ Association of Georgia.<br/><br/>Judge John Herbert Cranford Sr., who has presided over numerous cases in Coweta County, received his education from the University of Georgia and Mercer University.
