Hon. Matthew C. Christian

Matthew Christian is a district court judge serving the Fourth Judicial District in Fairbanks, Alaska. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Sean Parnell on November 21, 2013, and successfully retained in the 2016 retention election. Christian earned a Bachelor of Arts in criminal justice from the University of Alaska Fairbanks and a Juris Doctor from Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Prior to his judicial appointment, he worked as an assistant district attorney, practiced privately with Borgeson and Burns, PC, and served as magistrate judge and master for the City of Kenai in 2007. His career reflects a broad commitment to the Alaskan legal system.
