Hon. Missy Medary

Judge Missy Medary has served as a judge in the 347th District Court since her appointment by Governor Rick Perry in 2011. She was elected in 2012 and re-elected unopposed in 2016. She also serves as the Presiding Judge of the 5th Administrative Judicial Region, appointed by Governor Greg Abbott in 2015. Her career includes being an assistant district attorney in New Orleans, Harris County, and Nueces County. She has emphasized children's welfare, creating the first 'kid-friendly court witness room' and developing educational materials for child victims. She is recognized for her service by several organizations, including the Coalition of Crime Victim’s Rights and Crime Stoppers of Corpus Christi.
