Hon. Andrew Peterson

Andrew Peterson has served as a judge of the Alaska Third District Superior Court since his appointment in February 2018. He was retained in the 2022 retention election with 57% of the vote. Prior to his judgeship, Peterson held several positions within the Alaska Attorney General’s Office, including Chief Assistant Attorney General and Director of the Medicaid Fraud Unit. He began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney and later worked in private practice at Sheppard Mullin, LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop, LLP. Peterson earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Alaska, Anchorage in 1994 and his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2001.
