John C. Rambo is the chancellor for the First District Chancery Court, which presides over Carter, Johnson, Unicoi, and Washington counties in Tennessee. He was appointed to the court by Governor Bill Haslam on August 6, 2013, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of G. Richard Johnson. Rambo ran for election to the court and was elected unopposed on August 7, 2014, for an eight-year term expiring August 31, 2022. He received his undergraduate degree from East Tennessee State University in 1991 and his J.D. from the Wake Forest University School of Law in 1994.
