Judge Yvonne Michelle Williams was elected to the office of Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1 in Travis County in November 2010. She previously served as an Associate Municipal Court Judge for the City of Austin for 3 years. Her legal career began as a civil rights trial attorney in federal courts in the 1980s. She also worked as a briefing attorney for Judge Morris Overstreet on the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals and as a hearings officer for the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission.
