Hon. R. Kent Apsley

R. Kent Apsley is a judge of the Shelby County Superior Court in Shelby County, Indiana, having been elected on November 4, 2014 for a term expiring December 31, 2020. Prior to his judgeship, he served as the Shelby County prosecutor from 1999 to 2014, and as chief deputy prosecutor from 1995 to 1996. He also spent fifteen years in private practice before entering public service. Apsley earned both his undergraduate degree (1981) and J.D. (1983) from Indiana University. He has been recognized for his successful campaign, winning the Republican primary with 72.9% of the vote and running unopposed in the general election.
