Jonathan Ryan Freshour

Jonathan received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science with honors from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, where he chaired the Undergraduate Political Science Association and the Golden Key International Honor Society. Jonathan then earned his Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. As a law student, Jonathan served as a teaching assistant in multiple legal theory and analysis courses, as well as an advanced advocacy course. In his second year, he received the school’s annual Frank S. Sengstock Award for Excellence in Legal Writing for his submission to the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. He also served as the student representative to the American Bar Association, and was the president of the school’s LGBTQ+ student group, Outlaws. Outside of the office, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family and coparenting his cat and two dogs—Carol, Geoff, and George—with his partner.
