Michael Lynott

Michael is the Managing Partner of our Miami office. He has over 30 years of experience as a highly skilled defense trial attorney. He has been in private defense practice since being admitted to the Florida Bar. He represents numerous self-insured corporations and insureds in the defense of varied and complex matters, including premises and products liability, automotive accidents, personal injury, wrongful death, construction defect matters, and commercial litigation. Michael takes an analytical approach to litigating cases and case management. His approach is designed to effectively represent his clients in a responsive fashion while also effectively mitigating both defense costs and indemnity. Through his long involvement in insurance defense, he has developed a strong knowledge base regarding both the industry itself and its best practices. Michael has won many defense verdicts, including wrongful death, catastrophic injury cases arising from premises and automobile accidents, and insurance disputes. He was featured in the Daily Business Reviews Jury Verdicts and Settlements section for his defense verdict for a homeowner in the drowning death of a visitor. He achieved a defense verdict which led, through the successful use of Floridas Proposal for Settlement Statute, to his client being awarded attorney fees and costs. Michael was elected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2023 and he holds the AV Preeminent distinction, the highest possible from Martindale-Hubbell, based on recommendations from practicing attorneys and judges. He is admitted to practice in Florida as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.
