Lawrence Katz

Lawrence A. Katz was born and, with his wife, raised his family in Philadelphia and the nearby suburbs. They now primarily reside in Cape May County, New Jersey. He graduated from Temple University, summa cum laude and as a Presidents Scholar, and was named phi beta kappa, in 1976. In 1979, he graduated from Temple University Law School, magna cum laude. While in law school, he worked for Professor Delores K. Sloviter, who became a judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He also spent much of his law school career assisting in constitutional litigation. Mr. Katz has spent the last 45 years helping injured employees enforce their rights under a variety of federal laws. He has also focused on the representation of employees whose employers retaliated against them under federal anti-retaliation laws. He has over 30 years of expertise opposing state-related entities from asserting immunity from federal laws under the Amendments of the Constitution. Mr. Katz is a member of the bar of the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the elite club of lawyers who have actually argued before the United States Supreme Court. He is admitted to practice in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He is a member of the bars of the United States Courts of Appeals for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th, and 11th Circuits. He is also admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western District of Pennsylvania; District of New Jersey; Eastern District of Michigan; Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana; District of Maryland; and Northern District of New York. He has frequently practiced before OSHA, the Federal Railroad Administration, and the Railroad Retirement Board. Mr. Katz practice areas include but are not limited to Professional License Defense, Personal Injury, Education & Student Defense, Governmental & Election Law and the Federal Court and Court of Appeals Practice.
