James A. Fink

A graduate of Eastern Michigan University and the Detroit College of Law, Jim Fink spent 22 years in law enforcement before entering private practice. He retired from the Washtenaw County Sheriffs Office as the Police Services Commander. Jim, along with other members of the firm, focuses on municipal law, real estate, and landlord-tenant law. He also serves as a civil mediator, assisting other lawyers and their clients in settling cases. His community and professional service includes serving (currently or in the past) on the Michigan Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board, the State Bar of Michigan Attorney Discipline Board, a State Bar of Michigan Character and Fitness Subcommittee, the Ypsilanti Charter Commission (elected), Dawn Farm Board of Trustees, Washtenaw Area Apartment Association Board of Directors, St. Luke Lutheran Church Board of Elders and Church Council, Salvation Army Staples Center Festive Affair Board, City of Ypsilanti Human Relations Commission, Michigan Law Enforcement Officers Training Council / Domestic Violence Prevention and Treatment Board (DVPTB) Training Curriculum and Model Policy Committees, MDVPTB / Prosecuting Attorneys Association of Michigan Personal Protection Order Implementation Committee, Michigan Judicial Institute Sexual Assault and Residential Landlord-Tenant Law Benchbook Review Committees, and the Catholic Social Services Alternatives to Domestic Aggression Advisory Board.
