John Michael Groves

Michael Groves is a native El Pasoan who has practiced locally since 2014. Mr. Groves attended the University of Texas at Austin for his undergraduate degree, and the University of Houston for law school. In Houston, Mr. Groves worked with the Texas Innocence Network, representing individuals on death row. After graduating, Mr. Groves returned to El Paso. Mr. Groves began in private practice, representing low income individuals in criminal proceedings, as well as representing children in CPS cases. In 2019, Mr. Groves began working with Las Americas Immigrant Advocacy Center, which provides pro bono legal representation to migrants seeking asylum in the United States. Mr. Groves believes that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, and that just because someone is accused of a crime, that does not make them a criminal.
