During Seans tenure at Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, he served as the President of the Beta Nu Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Chairman of the School of Business & Industry Roundtable, Lead Attorney in the nationally ranked Mock Trial team, and a member of Phi Alpha Delta Fraternity International. In May of 2009, he earned a law degree from Texas Southern Universitys Thurgood Marshall School of Law. While attending Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Sean served as the Social Action Chair for the Black Law Students Association, Lead Attorney of Thurgood Marshall School of Laws BSLA Mock Trial team, and Vice President of the Justice Society. He also gained much of his criminal trial experience from the Thurgood Marshall Criminal Legal Clinic. Upon leaving Thurgood Marshall School of Law, Sean joined his fathers practice. Sean eventually became the managing partner of their practice, where he worked for almost ten years. In 2019, Sean joined Provost Umphrey Law Firm, where he practices personal injury law. Sean is currently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas and the U. S. Court of the Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation, a member of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, Jefferson Country Bar Association, National College of DUI Defense, National Association of Criminal Defense Attorneys, and Jefferson County Black Lawyers Association. Sean also actively participates with the Jefferson County Pro Bono Program by providing legal assistance to lower-income individuals and families in Jefferson, Hardin, Orange, and Liberty County. Sean is a member of several social and civic organizations. He is a member of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, past treasurer of CASA of Southeast Texas, and a past board member of Beaumont Community Playersand Habitat for Humanity of Jefferson County. He has been a presenter at multiple CLE presentations for the Jefferson County and Orange County Bar Associations and the Texas Trial Lawyers Association. He has spoken at numerous events ranging from a college convocation to reading to elementary school children.
