Mr. Worman graduated with honors in 1969 from the University of Floridas College of Business Administration, majoring in Accounting. In 1973, he graduated from the University of Florida Levin College of Law with his Juris Doctorate. After working in the Tax Department in the Atlanta, Georgia Accounting firm of Peat, Marwick & Mitchell, in 1974, Mr. Worman became associated with Linton Waterhouse, a well-known construction litigation attorney in Orlando, Florida. He became a shareholder in the Law Firm of Waterhouse and Worman, P. A., followed by Roth, Weiss & Worman, P. A. In 1981 Mr. Worman went into solo practice as The Law Office of Robert B. Worman, where he was later joined by Scott S. Sheffler. In 2006, the firm of Worman & Sheffler, P. A. was founded. Mr. Worman limits his practice to construction, real estate, and business law matters arising within the construction industry. As General Counsel to the National Association of Credit Management of Florida, Inc. (NACM South Atlantic), he works closely with its Notice to Owner/Notice to Contractor Department as its legal advisor on all lien and payment bond law related matters, as well as legislative matters affecting the construction industry in Florida. He also serves at its legal counsel to its Board of Directors. Mr. Worman serves as one of the two legal advisors to the Improved Construction Practices Committee (ICPC). This committee represents material suppliers in the Florida construction industry, dedicated to monitoring and promoting fair legislation and administrative rules governing Floridas construction and credit industry. Mr. Worman was the first attorney who served as a lay member of the State of Floridas Construction Industry Licensing Board, having been appointed by Governor Martinez in 1989. Mr. Worman served as a consultant to The Mechanics Lien Law Study Commission, created by the Florida Legislature in 1989. Out of the Study Commissions hearings came the The Mechanics Lien Law Study Commission Report to the Governor, the Speaker of the House, and the President of the Senate, dated January 1990. This Report became the basis for significant revisions to Floridas Lien and Bond Laws. Over the years, Mr. Worman has been actively involved in the construction law legislative process. He has assisted in the drafting of significant construction lien and bond law legislation. Mr. Worman lectured throughout the State of Florida on Floridas Construction Lien and Bond Laws. In his leisure time, Mr. Worman enjoys offshore fishing out of Lake Worth Inlet.
