About

My name is Courtney Repka Wortham and I am originally from Scurry, Texas. In fact, I have lived in Kaufman County for over 30 years now. No matter how many times I move away for school, I keep coming back because my roots are definitely here. While in law school at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law, lived at home and worked for the Honorable Judge Erleigh Wiley of the Kaufman County Court at Law. I have been afforded many valuable experiences that have aided in my desire to practice law. While in undergrad at the University of Texas at Dallas, I worked for the misdemeanor and felony family violence divisions at the Dallas County District Attorneys Office. From there, I also interned in the Mental Health Division of the Dallas County Public Defenders Office. My last year of law school, while clerking for the Kaufman County Court, I also interned at the Collin County District Attorneys Office. I have always had a passion for helping. As of now, I have a law firm in Terrell, Texas focused mainly on adoptions, foster parent representation, child protective services cases, private termination and adoption, stepparent adoption, representation of children, and fostering agreements between parties. I am a very family-oriented person, a trait I consider to be a strong suit in the field of law that I am in. I understand the importance of protection of children and having integrity throughout the whole process. I am passionate about representing those who do not otherwise have a voice in our court system, and it has been a pleasure to serve this purpose in the roles of attorney ad litem and amicus attorney. I pride myself in fighting hard for my clients but also maintaining professionalism. It is very important to me to ensure that I not only accomplish the goals set before me, but that I also have a good working relationship with all of those involved. Currently, I offer legal services for family law which involves cases such as adoptions, terminations and adoptions, stepparent adoptions, child protective services cases, foster parent interventions, grandparents rights, and so forth as well as estate planning/probate. I enjoy practicing in Kaufman County, familiarity is always a valuable tool when dealing with opposing counsels and the judges as well. But, I have had the pleasure of traveling all across the state of Texas for adoptions. I look forward to meeting and working with you to achieve the best possible result.
