Born and raised on the island of St. Thomas in the United States Virgin Islands, Sanga Turnbull left the Caribbean to attend the University of Michigan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998, Mr. Turnbull earned his law degree at the American University Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. While in the nation’s capital, he clerked for the Department of Justice during successive years, with the last year being in the Department’s famed Civil Trial Division. Upon relocating from Washington, DC to Florida in 2002, he worked for one of Florida’s largest Insurance Defense firms. Mr. Turnbull’s main practice area at the firm included representing several of the nation’s largest nursing home chains in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases across the state. After several years in this area, Mr. Turnbull was recruited by a competing insurance defense firm to practice in their general liability section, representing many of Florida’s larger commercial and personal line insurance companies.In 2011 Mr. Turnbull joined Smith & Stallworth, Attorneys at Law to run their Winter Haven, Florida office. He opened his own firm in 2020.
