Examples of recent matters:Our client, a registered nurse, was terminated for a HIPAA violation based on improper access to a patients chart and sharing protected health information with a co-worker. An administrative complaint was filed against her license. We met with the attorney generals office and a member of the Board of Nursing, and we were able to demonstrate that the allegations were unfounded. As a result of our presentation and further negotiations, the administrative complaint was dismissed, and our clients license remains unblemished. Our client, a physician, had his license suspended for having a relationship with a patient and prescribing controlled substances for the patient while in the relationship, as well as other allegations regarding inappropriate prescribing of controlled substances. Following the filing of our petition for reinstatement of the clients license and a hearing before an administrative law judge, we were able to obtain reinstatement of the clients medical license. Our client, a sports medicine physician, was employed by a large Midwestern university. She was confronted by administration and threatened with termination over allegations that she had removed patient records from the university at the request of a colleague and mentor, who was under investigation, and failed to inform the university about a prior outside investigation of the mentor. We were able to negotiate her resignation from the university and represented her throughout subsequent investigations by state licensing and attorney general authorities, which concluded with no findings of any wrongdoing by her. Aaron has been recognized and quoted by local and national news organizations, including NBC News, The Washington Post, The Associated Press, Detroit Free Press, The Detroit News, and the Lansing State Journal. He has also provided lectures to physicians on guidelines for appropriate controlled substance prescribing before the Michigan State Medical Society and the Ingham County Medical Society. Aaron is a Grosse Pointe, Michigan, native. His father and sister are mental health professionals. Aaron graduated from De La Salle Collegiate in Warren, Michigan, and went on to Michigan State University. This was followed by Detroit College of Law at Michigan State University, where Aaron graduated Cum Laude.
