About
Jeremy Baker is a trial lawyer whose practice is devoted solely to the representation of landowners in condemnation matters. Mr. Baker has successfully fought for, and won, additional compensation for landowners across Texas in takings for road widenings, power lines, pipelines, flood control, and other specialty uses. Mr. Baker began his legal career as an eminent domain attorney at the Harris County Attorneys Office where he represented Harris County in hundreds of condemnation proceedings. Immediately prior to founding Warren & Baker LLP, Mr. Baker worked as a real estate litigator at one of Houstons largest real estate law firms. During this time, Mr. Baker represented landowners in condemnation matters and gained valuable trial experience, including first chair jury trial experience, representing local and national commercial and multifamily property owners throughout Texas. Mr. Bakers experience also includes numerous appointments by Harris County Courts to serve as a Special Commissioner in condemnation hearings. Mr. Baker obtained his undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, Michigan, graduating Magna Cum Laude, and received his Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC. While in law school, Mr. Baker was an articles and notes editor for one of Georgetowns premier law journals, the American Criminal Law Review. Mr. Baker lives in Houston with his wife Becky, who is a partner at Bracewell LLP, and his son Henry. In his spare time, Mr. Baker owns and actively manages a small portfolio of multifamily properties in the Rice University area.
