Russell D. Donelson

Russell D. Donelson is a Dearborn native and a 1985 honors graduate of Dearborn Fordson High School. Following graduation from Fordson, Mr. Donelson received a full athletic scholarship to play football at Eastern Michigan University, where he was a member of the 1987 California Bowl Championship Football Team. Mr. Donelson graduated with honors from the College of Business at EMU in 1990, and holds a bachelors degree in business administrations. After concluding his undergraduate studies, Mr. Donelson enrolled in graduate school at EMU and obtained a masters degree in 1991. Mr. Donelson is a May 1994 graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. As a law student, Mr. Donelson was an intern for Judge James Callahan of the Wayne County Circuit Court, and a clerk for the Wayne County Prosecutors Office. While clerking in the Prosecutors office, Mr. Donelson was involved in the high-profiled prosecution of Tanya Harding, the figure skating champion who was accused of assaulting Olympic figure skater Nancy Karrigan. Mr. Donelson was also a clerk for the firm of Chapman & Associates while in law school, at which time, following graduation from the University of Detroit Mercy Law School in 1994, Mr. Donelson began working for Ash & Associates, P. C., where he practiced in all types of criminal matters, including drunk driving and drivers license restoration cases, and in family law/divorce. In 2011, Mr. Donelson founded Donelson Law Group to meet the needs of his growing client base in southeast Michigan. Mr. Donelson stays in with attorneys in virtually every area of legal practice and he continuously monitors their level of service, continuing education and effectiveness.
