Thomas Eugene Hammond

Thomas E. Hammond II graduated from Washburn University Law School in 2007. He was admitted to the bar in the state of Kansas in 2007 and in Missouri in 2009. He is also admitted to the United States District Court for the District of Kansas. Mr. Hammond joined Gates Shields Ferguson Swall Hammond P. A. in October 2007. Mr. Hammond has assisted in all phases of client relations, legal counseling, and negotiations. He also actively participates in all phases of litigation, including discovery and trial. Mr. Hammond has extensive litigation experience in a wide array of legal fields, ranging from the representation of landowners and the Kansas Department of Transportation and Turnpike Authority in $6,000,000+ condemnation litigation to the representation of small businesses and restaurants. He also represents clients - both from the defendants and plaintiffs perspective - in numerous personal injury cases. He has experience in complex litigation cases throughout the states of Kansas and Missouri. Mr. Hammond is also active in assisting families and children in domestic litigation throughout the state of Kansas as a certified mediator. He regularly represents parties in divorces that involve high assets, business ownership, and other complex investments and real estate holdings. Additionally, he serves as a Pro Tem judge in Johnson County district court.
