Kevin Adam Sommer

Mr. Sommers practice is centered on family law, municipal law and prosecution, personal injury, estate planning, probate, business planning and representation, and general litigation. Born in Warrenton, Missouri in 1985, he came to Warrensburg as student at University of Central Missouri (CMSU then) and while earning his B. S., in Political Science in 2008, decided to make Warrensburg home. During his time at UCM Mr. Sommer met Doug Harris, and began a long connection to the firm with Mr. Harris as a mentor and teacher through the departure of Mr. Harris from the firm in 2024. After graduation from UCM, Mr. Sommer attended University of Missouri School of Law, graduating in 2012. During law school Mr. Sommer represented Mizzou as a member of the law school trial competition team, while earning the Ike Skelton, Sr. award for outstanding trial work. From 2013 to 2023 he served as an adjunct faculty member at the University of Central Missouri and the coach for the UCM Mock Trial team, & professor for an undergraduate trial advocacy course. Mr. Sommer joined the firm, then known as Harris, Harris, & Gilbert, LLC, as a clerk during law school, later becoming an associate attorney, and in 2016 becoming a named member of the firm. He is a member of the Missouri Bars Family Law Section, and member of Warrensburg Rotary Noon club since 2012. Mr. Sommer serves locally on the Warrensburg School Foundation Board and previously with the WMMC Foundation Board. He has lived in Warrensburg full-time since 2012 with his wife Amanda who works for the Warrensburg school district. The Sommer family has grown in that time adding three children: Benjamin, Clara, and Jane, plus the family dog, Walter. When he is not serving his clients, Adam enjoys spending time with his family, playing music, and cooking.
