Biography Melton grew up in Stroud, Oklahoma, where his familys involvement in the oil and gas industry sparked his interest in studying energy law. He earned his undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University before graduating in 2009 from the University of Tulsa College of Law, where he was Articles Editor for the Energy Law Journal.
