Jerry Leroy Tidwell

Passionate and knowledgeable, Jerry W. Tidwell, Jr. is fiercely dedicated to safeguarding individual liberties. His favorite cases are the ones that others may shy away from because he believes those are the clients who need him the most. With a firm belief that everyone deserves strong representation and the best defense possible, Tidwell has built a criminal defense practice centered on this principle. While now focusing primarily on family law, he also handles complex felony and federal criminal cases. After earning his bachelors degree in general studies from Texas Tech, Tidwell went on to achieve his Doctor of Jurisprudence, graduating cum laude from Texas Tech School of Law in 2003. Just three days after being sworn in as an attorney, he took on his first jury trial case with the Collin County District Attorneys office. Through hard work and dedication, he quickly advanced from an Assistant District Attorney to Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor, specializing in DWI and Assault Family Violence cases, before joining the Felony Special Crimes Division. In May of 2006, Tidwell decided to open his own private law practice, focusing primarily on family law and criminal defense. With over ten years of experience representing clients in criminal and family law matters, Tidwell has also served as a court-appointed attorney for indigent defendants. Whether its navigating through divorce, fighting for custody, or facing serious criminal charges, Tidwells extensive courtroom and trial experience, combined with his background in environmental consulting and entrepreneurial ventures, has led to numerous successes. His greatest satisfaction comes from advocating for his clients during their most challenging moments and knowing that he has fought tirelessly on their behalf. Jerry continues to assist clients with legal matters that deeply impact their lives. Jerry Tidwell is admitted to practice in the courts of Colorado, Texas, and the U. S. District Courts for the Eastern, Northern, and Western Districts of Texas. He is also a member of the State Bar of Texas, specifically in the Criminal Justice and Family Law section.
