Michael Hord

An experienced trial lawyer, he is also an effective communicator and skillful negotiator. Michael has handled more than 1,000 cases throughout the state of Texas. Michaels focus is on complex business and commercial litigation. His representative experience includes representation of national and regional financial institutions, insurers, businesses and individuals in a broad variety of litigation matters including banking, Uniform Commercial Code litigation, Truth in Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Telephone Consumer Protection Act, Bankruptcy Stay and Discharge Injunction Violations, lender liability, arbitration, commercial law, oil and gas, insurance coverage, DTPA, contract disputes, commercial landlord-tenant, construction, non-competition agreements, employment, wrongful death, will and trust disputes, and defense of personal injury claims. He also has a background in defending Fortune 500 Companies from product liability claims and toxic tort claims and has represented healthcare providers in medical malpractice lawsuits and general business disputes. Michael is a member of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel, and the Litigation, Commercial and Consumer Law sections of the HBA and is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, the U. S. District Courts for the Southern, Northern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, and the U. S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. Michael graduated from the University of Texas in 1988, having majored in Economics. After graduating from the South Texas College of Law, he was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1992.
