She is double gator, having received both her undergraduate degree and her law degree from the University of Florida. During her time at UF as an undergraduate, she fell in love with this small town and decided to make it her home. After being an active part of the community for many years, she chose to go to law school so that she could find a way to give back to this community that she loves. Christy graduated from the Levin College of Law at UF in 2013 with her Juris Doctor and certificates in both Family Law and Estate Planning. Using the skills she learned volunteering at UFs Virgil Hawkins Family Advocacy Clinic and working for family law attorneys in Gainesville and Miami, she decided to open Christy Lopez Law to bring affordable family law assistance to everyone. Christy believes that no one should have to go to court alone and offers payment plans and several flat-rate packages for clients that are looking to protect their rights and their wallets. As a mother, Christy understands that children are the center of a parents life and emphasizes the importance of keeping their well-being at the center of every family law case in which they are involved. She has seen first hand that when both parents can learn to put the children first, everybody wins. When you work with her, Christy will help you to keep your childrens well-being as the first priority during a difficult time. Outside the law office, Christy likes to spend time with her daughter and cheer for Buchholz along with the marching band and color guard. She also enjoys going to plays at all the local theaters or to a local sports bar for a Dolphins game in the fall.
