About
Samuel grew up in rural southeast Missouri. After high school, he studied History at Missouri State University, graduating in 2012. He then attended The University of Tulsa College of Law on a full-ride scholarship. During his time in law school, he earned CALI awards (awarded for highest grade in the class) in: Criminal Procedure - Police Practices, Criminal Procedure - Adjudication, and Decedents Estates and Trusts. After passing the bar in 2015, Samuel joined the Public Defenders Office in Bolivar, Missouri. While there, he logged thousands of hours in courtrooms across southwest Missouri. He defended indigent clients on more than 1500 cases — ranging from misdemeanors to murders — and secured hundreds of dismissals. Samuel represents clients charged with crimes in state and municipal courts. He focuses on traffic tickets, drug charges, and domestic violence cases. He particularly enjoys litigating suppression issues involving violations of the Fourth and Fifth Amendments.
