Patrick Carew Attorney Patrick focuses his practice on personal injury litigation, all aspects of complex commercial litigation, and products liability litigation. Prior to representing injured individuals and their families, Patrick defended companies. After years of that work, Patrick wanted to give back to the community by helping individuals fight against companies, bringing with him decades of inside knowledge. Patricks experience also includes commercial business disputes, fiduciary and lender liability, partnership issues and office share agreements, product liability, real estate and mineral interests disputes, and construction litigation. Patrick won a $10.6 million jury verdict plus attorneys fees in 2019 for breach of a commercial contract; the verdict ranked in Texas Top 25 Verdicts for 2019. Another of his jury verdicts in a commercial contract partnership dispute resulted in a counterclaim victory that ranked in Texas Top 100 Verdicts in 2016. Prior to founding Carew Garcia, Mr. Carew was a partner at a boutique litigation law firm based in Dallas, Texas, where he practiced commercial and complex business, product liability, trust, and construction litigation. His trial role in the $80 million jury verdict in favor of a state pension fund was recognized as the largest counterclaim verdict nationally of 2010. He also was a member of the trial team in the highly publicized trial, NAACP v. AA Arms, Inc., et al., that resulted in a defense verdict and unanimous (12-0) advisory jury verdict of no liability for his client. The National Law Journal recognized the defense win as one of the top 10 defense verdicts of 2003. He recently represented a physician in a commercial office dispute resulting in a money verdict plus recovery of attorneys fees for his client on the counterclaim. Mr. Carew has authored or co-authored legal articles related to emerging litigation trends and product liability. Before law school, Mr. Carew was a financial analyst for a major aerospace corporation where he performed subcontract cost analysis, material cost estimating, and defense contract auditing. As a financial analyst for a national restaurant company, he built rate-of-return models for forecasting new restaurant construction and development costs. Mr. Carew also served as a non-commissioned officer in the U. S. Army and is a decorated veteran of the Panama Invasion and first Iraq war. Experience $10.6 million jury verdict in favor of solid waste disposal client who sued to enforce commercial contract. $1.25 million arbitration award to enforce an earn-out agreement following the sale of an appliance parts retail business. Represented unsecured creditors in a bench-trial multi-million dollar valuation dispute over the bankruptcy petition of a frac sand production company. Prosecuted $750 million ownership claims for an oil and gas developer. Awarded largest commercial counterclaim jury verdict in Texas for 2016 on behalf of physician clients in office-sharing agreement dispute, with finding of no liability on plaintiffs claims, plus clients were awarded attorneys fees.
