He has extensive experience in commercial litigation, with a particular concentration in insurance and complex class action litigation, as well as False Claims Act, and health-care related cases in the insurance context. Experience He has defended corporations and small businesses in hundreds of nationwide and statewide class actions involving statutory consumer fraud, medical bill review, PPO agreements, stacking, uninsured motorist coverage, homeowners coverage (including Hurricanes Katrina and Rita claims), bad faith, complex coverage litigations and False Claims Act cases. Steven has an active dispositive motion and appellate practice, with an emphasis on complex legal writing, and has engaged in extensive client counseling on how to avoid class action liability. Over the years, his clients have included Allstate Insurance Company, Metropolitan Property and Casualty Insurance Company, the Hartford Companies, the Travelers Companies and Kemper entities.
