As part of her casualty practice, she played an integral part in prevailing on a defense summary judgment in a hurricane roof collapse case where the plaintiff was claiming damages in excess of $5 million. Doris has effectively defended retailers in numerous cases involving personal injuries by eliminating or significantly reducing claims through the use of motion practice and enforcement of applicable statutes.Doris has successfully obtained jury and bench verdicts on behalf of clients in complex and heavily contested real estate matters involving claims of fraud, breach of contract, unfair trade practices, title insurance claims, professional liability, real property title and lien priority disputes. In her appellate practice, Doris has successfully defended clients in appeals from summary judgment and trial verdicts. Doris also represents clients in transactional real estate matters from pre-contract through closing. She conducts real estate closings and serves as title and escrow agent on residential and commercial real estate transactions, providing title insurance and settlement agent services. Doris has represented debtors and creditors in both Chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings. Doris has served as Chairperson on the Florida Bar Grievance Committee and has received a number of distinctions in recognition for her pro bono service to the community.
