Florence A. Carey

Florence A. Carey is a trial attorney at Crowe & Harris, LLP. Her areas of practice include medical malpractice and personal injury. She is a graduate of Boston College with a degree in English and Political Science. Florence received her law degree from New England School of Law. Her experience in representing plaintiffs dates back to law school, where she worked as a law clerk for a Boston area law firm and specialized in the areas of medical malpractice, personal injury, and product liability. She also participated in a clinical program through the Attorney Generals Office, gaining experience in the area of consumer protection. Since graduating from law school, Florence has spent her entire career representing injured parties in the areas of medical malpractice and personal injury. She joined Crowe & Harris at its inception and has participated in numerous trials throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. She has consistently had some of the largest settlements in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as reported annually by Lawyers Weekly. Florence is admitted to the United States District Courts of Massachusetts and Rhode Island and the state bars for Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Bar Association, Rhode Island Bar Association and American Bar Association. Most recently, Florence secured a plaintiffs verdict in Hampden County on March 16 2023 on behalf of our client, a 36 year old mother of two who suffered a subdural hematoma due to an undiagnosed and untreated aneurysm when she presented to the Emergency Room against the Emergency Room physician and the physician assistant . There were no offers of settlement prior to the three week trial. The jury deliberated for approximately 7 hours and awarded 4.2 million for past and future pain and suffering, lost earning capacity, and future medicals. With interest the judgment is 5,244,385.88 Attorney Carey was also asked to speak at this years Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys Annual Meeting concerning her large verdict.
