James T. Tanton

James Tyler Tanton A first-generation college student, Mr. Tanton played NCAA Division I football at Valparaiso University in Indiana for two years before finishing his undergraduate education at the University of Florida in 2017, earning a degree in political science. Mr. Tanton then remained in Gainesville to attend the University of Florida Levin College of Law, holding a job at a workers compensation firm between classes and working as an Uber/Lyft rideshare driver on the weekends. Mr. Tanton graduated from law school in May 2020 and was admitted to the Florida Bar in April 2021. He has worked in a variety of civil litigation roles, including construction defect litigation, general liability defense, as well as federal employment law. Mr. Tanton is also admitted to the U.S. Northern, Middle, and Southern District Courts of Florida. A second-generation descendant of Greek immigrants, Mr. Tanton is a proud member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Clearwater and a 2019 recipient of the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Atlanta’s Archangel Michael Award for exemplifying lifelong commitment, dedication, and service to the Church. Mr. Tanton is a member of the Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division as well as the Florida Justice Association.
