Sarah S. Chiappone

Ms. Chiappone possesses an understanding of the legal issues facing public entities, particularly municipalities, which she brings to her focus on public sector law. She addresses matters such as zoning and land use, risk management, employment disputes, and public sector labor law. She regularly prepares witnesses, conducts oral arguments, and drafts complaints, motions, and briefs in defense of public client interests. In her previous role as Assistant Law Director for the City of Sandusky, Sarah handled a wide range of civil litigation and transactional matters, including EEOC and Ohio Civil Rights Commission cases, defending the citys interests at State of Ohio Department of Commerce hearings, advising Boards and Commissions on relevant ordinances, state law requirements and board procedures, and administrative appeals at the Sixth District Court of Appeals. Sarah also prosecuted criminal cases at the Sandusky Municipal Court.
