Jessica Borne

Jessica actively volunteers in our community to bring more advocacy and education to domestic abuse, such as working with Bridges Domestic Violence Center to conduct trainings for community agencies to bring awareness to domestic violence issues. She has also administered countless law enforcement trainings. Throughout her career, Jessica has served on the Veteran’s Treatment Court Team, Sexual Assault Response Team, Domestic Violence Task Force, and headed a Domestic Violence Community Coordinated Response Team while in her tenure with the District Attorney’s Office. Currently, Jessica serves on the Board for the Davis House Child Advocacy Center as well as Bridges Domestic Violence Shelter. What makes Jessica unique from other family law attorneys is that she has encountered and handled countless cases involving mental health issues during her career as a prosecutor. She is a fierce advocate for domestic abuse victims and their families, which has allowed her to foster a solid transition with her practice into the civil domestic world. Jessica knows all too well that abuse can take on many forms, including physical, emotional/psychological, and sexual violence. The focus of her civil practice is to continue devotedly serving the community in civil cases involving domestic issues such as divorce, post-divorce, child support, custody, juvenile cases, wills, conservatorships, and orders of protection. Jessica is a native of Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Tennessee in 2001 to attend college at Middle Tennessee State University while playing collegiate soccer. Prior to attending law school at Nashville School of Law, Jessica obtained both Bachelor of Science and Master of Criminal Justice degrees. She completed her master’s thesis on the evolution of child sexual abuse laws in Tennessee. Jessica also served as an adjunct professor for Middle Tennessee State University from 2007-2017. She lives in Franklin with her husband and three children. In her free time, she is typically with her family enjoying outdoor activities, running, and coaching youth soccer.
