Matthew David Huffman

Originally from Alamance County, Matt began his legal career focusing on some of the deeper issues facing society, including death penalty reform, poverty, and childhood literacy. The more he learned about each of these urgent issues, the more he felt called to law school. While there, he found an innate talent for civil litigation. He competed for Moot Court and Law Review, earning high marks in national competitions. He specialized in Alternative Dispute Resolution, focusing on Arbitration and Negotiation to improve client results. He litigated cases in federal court on constitutional and civil claims. He got to know the court systems and officials working in each county. After 14 years as a small-business owner, Matt brings the same spirit of enterprise to his legal practice and mentoring. Matt is an active member of the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the North Carolina State Bar. When he is not in court or representing clients, he enjoys time with his dog, Chief, and focuses on the great outdoors as an avid skier, a trained SCUBA rescue diver, and a devoted mountain biker.
