Bob is an active member of the State Bar of Texas and is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and the Texas Bar Foundation. Bob is past President of the Dallas Estate Planning Council (2007-2008). He also served on the Board of Directors of the Dallas Bar Association Probate, Trusts and Estates Section and as Chairman of the Section (1998-1999). Bob has been named as one of the Best Lawyers in America by Woodward White (1994-2022), and a Texas Super Lawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine (2004-2022). Bob received his B. B. A. degree from SMU, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma (business scholastic honor society), and his J. D. degree from SMU Law School, where he was a member of Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, Order of the Coif, Barristers, and an Associate Editor of SMU Law Review (formerly Southwestern Law Journal).
